Reading time: 4.14 1,007 words Hey Reader, Aaaaaaand January is a wrap! After a very laid back December, I was all set to head into 2026 at maximum chill, but apparently Past Me didn’t get the memo because I spent the final two weeks of January back and forth to London twice and speaking at an event in Bristol, all of which was amazing and fun but hoooooooooooo-boy was I blaggered. Then my good friend Yinka sent her Mighty Movers email (exclusive to those of us who’ve been fortunate to work with her) and it inspired me to start this monthly missive. I don’t write enough about the incredible things my clients are doing, and the amazing ways I get to help them. And, as Yinka pointed out, we’re all so guilty of shrinking our amazing achievements into “I did a little thing hee hee!” No. None of that. Especially not now when we need to make our voices loud and compelling to drown out the rivers of hate coming from the far right and the bottom-of-the-barrel billionaires. Speak up. Celebrate your wins. There are no tiny wins, only WINS TO CELEBRATE. Allow me to introduce to you to these clients of mine who are doing the most wonderful writings. Sophie Lee whose book Beyond Palatable is with the publisher (Luath Press) and is now available for pre-order here or here. Please do pre-order it because it does WONDERS for helping the best voices get to bestseller status. And not only that, Sophie held her fourth (I think) Self Expression Session in Bristol at the end of January, which was wonderful. AND she’s orchestrating an entire UK book tour for her launch, as well as a big launch party in London. AND she’s 3D-printing an entire human. In.cred.ible. Yinka Ewuola whose upcoming book(s) are going to be absolutely crucial reading for all those of us whose money mindsets have been a struggle over the years. She was on the panel at the Bristol Self Expression Session and her clients are seeing the most amazing successes. Just mindblowing. She’s on a mission to change the face of business and money for women and she’s doing it. Samantha Harman whose book Just Get Dressed is with the editor (ME!) and is available for pre-order here and is already a bestseller! Plus, Samantha is hosting The Gathering this coming Friday in Oxford and there are still tickets available if you want to come along and kickstart your confidence. You’ll get to meet me too, as I shall be there, and I’ll also be “involved” on the day! Sarah Silva who did the most recent round of MicroBook Magic and has set an audacious but very doable publishing goal for her new book — and is making brilliant progress. She’s attending the Power Hours, doing the writing, and creating something fabulous for her clients. She also ran an open house for Expedition Group membership and put eight new members into it in January. Hurrah! Audrey Pantelis has almost completed the first draft of her first book and it’s going to be an absolute goldmine for teachers everywhere. I’m so excited to see the changes Audrey is going to make and the waves she’s going to create. Sally Evans has renewed confidence in her book idea and is making great progress on it — it’s such a fun idea and I am excited to see her put it into the world! Graham Butcher is making great progress on his book and — very exciting — has started a new writing practice that he’s really enjoying! Simon Kirby’s beautiful memoir has gone to the publisher. His story has been 22 years in the telling and I’m honoured to have been working with him to put it into a book worthy of his journey. Caroline Buist is putting the finishing touches on her manuscript and it’s almost ready for typesetting — and she continues to do a wonderful job for her VA clients, of whom I am one! If I haven’t specifically named one of my clients above, it doesn’t mean I don’t celebrate you. I do. You’re amazing. And you will feature in a future edition. I also want to celebrate my wins. So here they are:
I think you’re amazing. I hope you realise how amazing you are. And that you have plenty to celebrate about what you’re creating and putting into the world. “I wish I could show you, when you are lonely or in darkness, the astonishing light of your own being.” (Hafiz) If you’d like to work with me, and be celebrating your upcoming book in the coming months, I have three spots in February for a 90-minute one-off book coaching session that’ll give you everything you need to clarify your book idea, lay out your reader journey, outline your book, and make a plan. Email me for more details. TTFN, Vicky 🫡 p.s. Know someone who might enjoy this email? Please forward it to them and get them to sign up here.

Reading time: 4.48 1,139 words Read this email in your browser. Hey Reader, How many questions is too many questions? This is not rhetorical — I actually need to know, because getting it wrong has painful consequences. In conversation, we’re supposed to ask questions. We’re supposed to be interested in other people. I know this because I’ve been told many, many times over the years. And honestly, this isn’t a hardship for me because other people are endlessly fascinating to me. I’d like to...

Just who does she think she is?” But who else are we mean to be full of, my friend? The latest opinions fed to us by the techbro propaganda machine? The perfect tradwife the algorithm wants us to be? No thank you. We can get new boots that fit us perfectly because of course we’ve outgrown the old ones. And as for who we think we are, well, that’s a work in progress. We’re...

Hey Reader, “Everyone kept asking the same questions!” I was talking to my client about how her “open house” for her membership was going, and she said it was going great but that everyone kept asking her the same questions. And it was making her laugh because the book she is currently writing with me is going to answer allll those questions — so it was a real nudge to get it finished and published. Since then she’s made a ton of...
