Hey Reader,

I was just at Atomicon (sorry) and these were my highlights:

  • A mini-photoshoot with Wendy Wo0 Gannon which was SO much fun this woman is a freaking WIZARD when it comes to photoshoots, book one with her immediately
  • Stuffing my face with delicious Persian food with Sarah Silva, Sophie Blackmore, and the aforementioned Wendy
  • Rory Sutherland’s brilliant talk (bees and ants and the kind of funny and wise insights ALL talks should contain)
  • Accosting then being hugged by Laura Belgray when she did a great job of seeming to remember who I am
  • Hanging out with Dave James at the back of the classroom
  • Catching some rays with Samantha Harman and Charelle Griffiths
  • Getting complimented on my beautiful snakey dress
  • Buying a dinosaur umbrella because it was raining then realising it was kid-sized and then being pleased because a) it was less antisocial than an adult brolly and b) it’s too small to even try to share with anyone
  • Tamu Thomas’s beautiful energy and message because I am HERE for 10x revenue while doing less bloody work all the time
  • Sleeping a full. 8.5 hours both nights ahhhhhhhhhhh

All in all I am glad I came and I also offer you this thought…

These big one-off events are fabulous for kickstarting ideas and motivations, and for meeting people old and new, and for utterly draining your social battery, and for getting flash insights from amazing people like Rory Sutherland, Tamu Thomas, and Geoff Ramm…

But long-haul practices are where the real progress and growth happen.

Specifically talking about writing here, but it really applies to anything.

It’s easy to get caught up in the moment at big events (and Atomicon is brilliantly put together and the speakers are fab although the diversity is lacking) BUT if we come back and then don’t build a practice, there’s no point.

Hence why I’m in my pyjamas in my lovely hotel writing this to you now.

I write every day, even if it’s only a few words. It’s what I do.

It’s how I write books, build my business, and help the people I help (and BOY BY GOLLY I am bloody good at what I do).

But I know it can be super difficult to keep up the practice in between the big events, which is why my Creative Playground exists.

  • Daily writing sessions at 7am and 12noon UK time
  • Ask me anything, every day, and I’ll help if I can (and not just me, the whole group)
  • Monthly workshops on various writing, creativity, and publishing topics included in your membership
  • Monthly hot-seat style Q&A sessions in which we’ll figure shit out for you
  • A private group chat that is NOT overwhelming

And lemme promise you this: my Creative Playground will NEVER be larger than 50 members because huge groups are massively overwhelming for me and I know I’m not alone.

I’m not about creating a group then stepping out of it. I’m always right here, in the middle, writing with you.

And you can try it out for a week for just ÂŁ1.

Right here:

TTFN,

Vicky

Like the woman I sat across from on the way to Newcastle on Monday morning. Who was clipping her nails. On the train. AND THE NAIL CLIPPINGS WERE PINGING ACROSS THE TABLE. What in the world of dragged-up-by-trash-pandas was happening here? My coffee tasted just fine without the piquant coffee art of...

Vicky and Kim are two white women in a restaurant, grinning hugely at the camera. Vicky is holding Kim’s book “Client Badassery Secrets” and looking super proud because she is.

She’s an A-lister famous for crafting long-form control letters and complex product launches and her work consistently beats out the dudebros of the industry. She knows her shit and she is a total badass and she is no stranger to hard work… But when it came to writing her first screenplay, she found herself deep in the swamp...

Hey Reader, “What’s that smell?!” Joe comes skidding into the SadKitchen, spluttering and coughing, because I am cooking dinner but it’s all “suspiciously quiet” apparently — I don’t know am I supposed to be doing Dinner, the Musical? Anyway I ruined the rice, the dinner, and the pan on the stove but thankfully I was sitting on the floor at the time so I didn’t get choked by the smoke drifting at about shoulder height around the...
