Reading time: 1.30 356 words Hey Reader, Orange Moschino kitten heels. Leopard-print denim shorts. Bright red sleeveless top. Mustard-yellow suede biker jacket. Let’s ignore the blisters biting my heels because the walk into Oxford was longer than anticipated, and focus on this question: Who are you? Really? When you let yourself be your fullest YOU? The outfit I wore on Friday for Samantha Harman’s book launch was NOT something I would have worn before I met her. I wouldn’t even have condsidered it, not least because shorts were involved and I do not do shorts. Especially not animal-print shorts. And yet, there I was. And I felt good. This isn’t really about clothes; it’s about what we allow ourselves to do, be, and step into. It’s about expansion. This year already three of my clients have published their books. Sophie Lee launched and toured Beyond Palatable all over the country and made her book a massive deal because it IS a massive deal. Samantha Harman launched Just Get Dressed with an online party and two real-life events and made a big fuss because it’s WORTH a big fuss. Caroline Buist’s new book Sing Like No-One’s Listening! landed on my doorstep this weekend with a card that said, amongst other things, “You gave me the belief and confidence,” and she should be SO proud. Two more women have started their books this month because of me and are making those dreams come true. Five writers have enrolled in MicroBook Magic and are on the road to writing their books. I am the woman who makes all this happen. And the woman who makes this happen doesn’t hide at home in jeans and a baggy tee, hoping nobody sees her. She stands up, fully visible, and fights for your voice. That Friday outfit represents THAT woman. What I do, who I do it for, and why it matters. (Honestly, read Just Get Dressed. Read Beyond Palatable. They’ll change the way you see yourself and the world and your place in it.) So, let me ask you again: Who are you when you let yourself be your fullest you? What could that person do and be? TTFN, Vicky 🫡 p.s. If the fullest you is ready to write your book, there are three ways to work with me this month. Reply to this email and let’s find out which is the best way for you to get it done. p.p.s. Know someone who might enjoy this email? Please forward it to them and get them to sign up here.

Reading time: 0.58 229 words Read this email in your browser Hey Reader, Forbes 30 under 30? Meh. No shade, but energy is easier to come by when your joints don’t sound like the Titanic hitting the iceberg. That’s a lot of pressure for younger folks and can feel like a kick in the teeth for the creakies, which is why when Margo Aaron posted this thread in Threads my heart leapt and kept dancing the fandango and still is. “Can we get a thread on authors who found success after 40?” Oh yes...

My brain is my dome, they are causing terror in it?) Every time I think about writing an article, or just before I go onstage to do stand-up comedy, or whenever I talk about my books, up they ooze to whisper to me about how nobody is interested, how I don’t have anything useful or interesting to say, and how everybody hates my dirty...

Timpsons, if didn’t know, is a cobblers, dry-cleaners, key-cutting business based in the UK. It specialises in finding employment for ex-offenders and other marginalised groups. “Why?” I asked him. “Well, because a criminal will have my house key and all my personal details,” he said. We had a...
